saving the planet and mummy’s bum!

I lost my blogging mojo for a bit there, but yay it’s back!

At my poppits school, they try to encourage the kids to walk to school to save the planet, you know from pollution and stuff. Thing is it’s kinda hard to get the kids on board and it’s become a bit of a family joke now cos I say “come on we’re saving the planet!” and my little horrors sweet cherubs chime, “and mummy’s bum”, nice huh!

Anyways I’ve decided to do something about it once and for all, so I joined a group 5k a day keeps the fat at bay! (anyone who usually tunes in knows I’m bonkers so this won’t surprise you) It’s an open group join if you dare here!

So far so good, I’m currently on day 9 and have had all the delights that the good old British weather has to offer, spring sun, wind and rain, and my personal fave snow blizzard!

So I reckon when the chips are down, the girl done good!

I’ll keep you posted and if my bum shrinks sufficiently I may even share a snap!

  1. Oh Teresa! You are just the cutest thing! You crack me up so much! First of all, I have to tell you…this is the first time I have seen a full on view of your kitchen and I am in love! It is so warm, inviting and cozy! Seriously, I just want to stop over and have some coffee at your house! Secondly, that picture of your kids is absolutely adorable! It just doesn’t get better than that! Good luck with your running! Seriously, if you are running in a blizzard you are one amazing gal!

  2. Also loving the gorgeous pic of your kitchen!!! And your beautiful children 🙂 Well done you for the 5k a day and in hideous weather…it’s hard enough to turn up at the gym and train let alone do it in the elements outside – I take my hat off to you lovely lady!

  3. I’ve been trying so hard to do 2 miles a day…so you’ve encouraged me to set my goal for 3.1 – that’s a 5k!!! Thanks so much…looking forward to hear how it goes for you. 🙂
I love your kitchen too!!! Looks like a party happening all the time. What a great way to start the day with a virtual visit to your house…love the little people…so cute!!!

  4. oh! Teresa, so happy to see a picture from you and loving your kitchen, it looks inviting (loving those nice pink curtains & is that a kitchen banquette?) 🙂 Congrats on running 5K every day, wow 9 days already! this is so good for you 🙂

  5. Your kids are hysterical. I’m guessing the apples didn’t fall far from the tree. I love that they’re happy to discuss saving your bum with you. What a fun home you must have.

I’m back to “walking” here – in fact I’m walking as I type this. I found I just don’t get out and walk as much as I used to or should so set up a treadmill desk (here’s my post about it http://laurarittenhouse.wordpress.com/2012/09/27/treadmill-desk/) so I can walk while I’m on my computer. I have the opposite weather problem to you – it’s stinkin’ hot here in summer and I’m sweating before taking my first footstep. That’s why I say I’m “back” to walking. I stopped probably some time in December when I was tired of being sweaty and stinky all day (I’m on and off the computer all day so even if I’d cool down and shower, I’d get back on my computer later, walk some more and sweat some more). Now that the worst of the summer heat is behind me I can walk again. I don’t keep track any more but in the past 5 k was no problem on my treadmill desk.

    Good luck with that bum!

    • I will be sure to check that post out! I really hope I can soon say 5k no problem, still waiting for spring here snow again now! Chooks not happy! I soooo hope my bum shrinks soon!

  6. Oh how I wish I had your energy Teresa! You’re doing wonderfully to do 5k a day in such crazy weather (blizzards? woah!!) – Keep up the great work!! Btw, I love your kitchen too, it looks so warm and inviting. I can imagine walking into it and smelling the beautiful scent of baked goods that have just come out of the oven….wait…then it would be time for another 5k run again. *winks* xo

  7. I love the way you’re constantly changing your header, keeping things fresh and new! Your poppits are adorable! And I must say, I don’t why your little ones are constantly going on about your bum…from that pic, it sure doesn’t look like you have an issue with that part of your bod! 🙂

  8. Cute kitchen, adorable kiddies! Love the new header. Good luck with 5kms a day. I am trying to do the same 🙂 By the way, the blogging mojo comes and go with me too. Kids at school makes it harder to craft alot too. Anyway – your readers definitely want bum photos – what would the world be without them 😉

  9. We do the school ‘walk’ most days come rain, hail, snow (would love to say shine, but that’s been sorely missing these past months!) I can definitely vouch for the weight loss benefits-especially if your struggling up hill through snow drifts and/or ice….I am taking inspiration from you and thinking I may give my blog a Spring clean to brighten it up-mostly to distract me from the miserable greyness that is our weather. I agree, lovely kitchen btw!
