sweet summer cover up

The good side of being, quite literally a bonified and kosher dusty old mole, is that at least I’ve been able to enter the made it monthly challenge, over at the fabulous woolhogs!

In case you didn’t know I’ve opened a Misi shop (make it sell it) you can check out my post here, anyways it has taken up a lot of my time, to say the least! Not only am I very dusty, but the house, well let’s just say we have a bit of a dust situation!

So, as I’ve been so busy being creative, for once entering was a breeze! I chose to enter this gorgeous super sweet waistcoat as it has been a real labour of love! It’s worked in a gorgeous silk and linen rowan yarn mix, like my bag in my post here. I had to add the chunky flower, as in case you hadn’t noticed I’m a bit of a flower power kinda chick!

I hope you guy’s can all forgive me for not posting/commenting as much as normal, but I have a right achy old back, which proves I’ve been slogging my gut’s out, also I can’t stop sneezing which is down to dust more than hay fever!

Yay! little poppits has a Misi shop

Featured

I’ve finally come out of my dusty mole hole and seen the light! my shop is ready, yay! The only down side is I can’t sell outside of the UK as my Insurance doesn’t cover it, but I’m looking into how to change that.

For those of you who don’t know, I recently had a craft fair, how did it go? Well let’s just say not good, it was dead as a dodo and I nearly shot myself!

But wait, something amazing did come out of it! I got a commission from a gorgeous retro ice cream van business to make some flower and ice cream garlands, how chuffed am I! I also met a whole bunch of gorgeous people. Of course my poppits cheerfully ran around spending their wonga on all the other stalls and my Aimee was very much attracted to the puppet stall! you’ll see what she picked up in my gallery! (enough said!)

That’s why I’ve been off the blogging radar for so long, in my dusty mole hole creating beautiful stuff (so it’s not all bad!)

For my on-line shop I decided to go with Misi, it was very easy to set up. It costs just 20p to list an item and they take 3% commission which, for my first baby steps is perfect. I did have a bit of trouble adding my photos, they had to be under 1mb, but the hubster sorted it by simply adjusting my phone so it only takes photos under this now, genius!

Ahh yes, speaking of the hubby has he been any more supportive yet, hmm in a word no! The grapevine has it he was heard telling Josh ” if your mum makes £50 I’ll eat my hat and a mouldy sandwich!”, aint love grand!

But I’m gonna show him, these might be baby steps now but for sure my millions are coming, ok so maybe just enough to get that big mac but who’s counting!

crochet or big mac?

Aside

I’ve got my first craft fair this saturday, which is why I’ve almost completely dropped of the blogging radar, again! I’ve been so busy making stuff, I feel half dead!

My darling hubby has maybe not been as supportive as he could have been, prompting my title, here’s what the little sweet heart said:

“do you know what love all this time you’re spending, you’d be better off working in mac donalds for £7 per hour, at least you’d get a free big mac!”

now that’s love for ya aint it!

any way before I show my gallery of snaps I’ve got to say a huge thank you to the gorgeous knitexpressions, check out this amazing prize I  won:

cool huh! hop on over and check out this amazing blog, you’ll love it so much!

huge hugs

Teresa

flower power bag

yikes I finished my bag in time for the made it monthly challenge over at the gorgeous woolhogs by the skin of my teeth!

It’s a sort of combination of lots of things I’ve spied in books and magazines and I love it. I’m trying to make enough stock to start an online shop so I’m a bit of a dusty mole surrounded by yarn and crochet hooks, with a pink bow on my head of course!

recently my beloved hubby told me I would never make enough money for all my time, but that has just made me all the more determined, so watch this mole hole!

ps I can’t wait to tell you about a gorgeous package I received from knitexpressions and heaps of yummy awards to share too!

love and hugs Teresa ♥ (aka dusty mole!)

cute retro sideboard

It was love at first sight when I clapped my eyes on this cute retro sideboard! It just needed a bit of granny chic charm, how could I resist! A quick lick of paint and a sweet retro fabric lining later and here it is packed with all my goodies!

pretty daisy chain necklace

I am like a magpie when it comes to flowers and diamonds, and as flowers are cheaper I’m always covered in tons of them! So when I was thinking of ideas to enter woolhogs made it monthly challenge, flowers were on my mind,  just a little!

What can be cuter than this super cute daisy chain necklace, the daisies are attached to a simple crochet chain and fastened with a button. I love it and can currently be found day-dreaming of meadows filled with buttercups and daisies!

Why can’t I keep up with this blog?

Featured

As usual I fell of the blogging radar yet again! How is that possible and what is wrong with me, and why can’t I keep up with this blog? answers on a postcard pretty please!

I was just thinking, that I might chuck the towel in, but after reading some lovely messages from my gorgeous bloggin pals, I thought com on girlie get on it, so here I am yet again!

So grab a cuppa and I’ll fill you in on all the goss!

Yay, mumma poppit is still running and training for my half marathon in october! Ok so there was just one teeny mistake when I got some new barefoot running shoes. They were so gorgeous (deep coral) and having a blonde moment I pedicured my feet before wearing them (well I wasn’t having dirty feet in my new trainers now was I!). This was not good and resulted in huge open blood blisters on the arch of my feet,  ouch!

I did also find myself entering the ballot for next years London marathon! I kinda got caught up in the hype, but also hubby and the kids laughed so much it made me enter, and I’ve decided to do one next year anyways!

DSC_0613In other news, I did do a craft fair, with my gorgeous sis in law. We had such great fun we are thinking about going into business together and I’m really excited. I’ve also decided to set up a shop online selling crochet and vintage goods, I just need to come up with a name, any ideas?

love n hugs Teresa♥

pretty spring crochet coasters

Featured

Over at the gorgeous woolhogs, every month they hold a made it challenge. For April, they added a theme ‘seasons’. I really fancied entering and this cute idea popped into my head.

I loved making them, and am hoping to sell some at some local craft fairs if I can take the plunge and be brave!

They are very simple and sweet to make, It’s really just the inside of a granny square, from another fave book of mine, Granny Squares, by Barbara Wilder, Melanie Sturm & Stephanie Gohr.

I used cotton yarn and a 3mm hook, but you can use whatever you like such is the beauty of crochet!
